Ombre: Jumping on the Bandwagon

It's been a slow week. My apologies!

I haven't been out taking pictures recently, I've had some uni work to catch up with etc, but hopefully we can get back on track next week!

I'll be adding a little more of my own life to ILTWYL, I started this blog thinking I could be some kind of superhuman-zoom-lady traversing the campus snapping pictures of everyone constantly, but I now realise that perhaps I'd like to soften things up a bit with excerpts of my own life, maybe adding in what I've been wearing, yadda yadda yadda...

Anyway, so for the past week or so I've been toying with the idea of going all ombre on my hair. Yesterday I bought some bleach and basically slapped it on the ends. I have never really dyed my hair, so it was strong enough to take a good bleaching. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

It's a bit subtler than I thought, but that's better than overdoing it.

So I'd like to hear your thoughts: should fashion blogs allow an element of personal life, or do they produce better content without?

Happy sleepy Sundays, everyone.

I think your new ombre hair looks great, the colour is lovely! I prefer blog that are more 'own life' because it makes it easier to conect to the writer and therefore enjoy the experience of reading the post more. I've been reading blogs for about a year now and I find that the blogs I continue to go back to time after time are the ones that combine fashion and their life. I think they're more interesting and relatable but at the end of the day if the content is good then the blog will always be worth reading =)

I really like the hair. It's cool. I've been wanting to dye my hair a crazy color lately, but I know I'd have to bleach it first and I don't know if I can go through with it!

Interesting topic about the fashion blog/personal life.

Honestly, I don't think there is any right answer for that. There are really successful blogs that include a little of both, or are one sided. I think it's best to be true to yourself and what you're comfortable with because that will allow you to create the best content.

i like an element of personality and personal life on a blog but a brief piece on personal life rather than an essay rambling and moaning if you know what i mean.
love the new hair!
