DIY Flower Crown

I don't know about you, but every May my brain suddenly raises everything up a gear and I go into Creative Overdrive. This is mostly due to the fact that I've got exams to study for, and every atom of me is tempting me with new songs to write or new projects to start, begging me not to sit down in front of my books and actually revise. So far I have cut up and bleached a pair of jeans, dyed a t-shirt an unsuccessful off-white attempt at lavender, and constructed this flower crown you see above. I was going for that faded polaroid Marc by Marc Jacobs look with these photos.

Normally with everything I attempt (such as bleaching the ends of my hair), I have two rounds: round one is an excited, innocent attempt and usually features many realisations that I'm doing things the wrong way. Round two is a calmer, more knowledgeable attempt and usually gets the results I want. I have been dying to own a glorious wreath of flowers for ages ages ages, so I figured I would make one myself, and hopefully, all in one attempt.

It is not difficult to make one of these things, it really isn't. There's a great tutorial for it here but I'm sure everyone's clever enough to figure out how to do it by themselves. All you need are fake flowers, some garden wire and a pair of pliers. The great thing about this is that it can be very cheap, I borrowed some pliers from a friend and the flowers and wire only cost £6 altogether.

I didn't cover the whole wire in flowers, I'm planning on finishing it off my wrapping the exposed wire with some ribbon. I am very chuffed with my new headgear, yet one question remains: where and when do I wear it?

Oh, it looks awesome! I love how big and bright the flowers are, it seems like it was a great, simple diy for the spring.
