I've got about two months to compose a "song" set to the words of Yeats' poem The Wild Swans at Coole. I'm putting "song" in inverted commas because it's not your easy verse/chorus/verse/chorus/piano interlude thing. We get extra points for being "original" and stepping outside of normal "tonality" conventions, keeping it 21st Century, yannow?
I went down to the library and took out a few songbooks. This post is basically a little mood board, if you will. My head is full of swans and forests and lakes and Modern Romantic melodies.
